My BLOG is on Z~Web USA

I got alot of work done today. In between my classes I built an RSS server for Z~Web USA.com and added the last 3 postings from my Blogstream account to my News page. That's quite a bit of XML parsing. I'm famished. I think when I'm done posting this message I'm going home so I can get a bite to eat. I was sick last night so I woke up about 6am this morning and couldn’t go back to bed. I left about 7:30am and forgot to eat any breakfast. Here it is 6:30pm and I haven’t eaten at all today. I guess I got carried away. I’m going to shoot some video Friday, so maybe I’ll have something to post up in the Video section next week. If you are reading this from Z~Web USA, you can click on the Blue heading and post a message on my BLOG. I would love to hear from you. More later…

Preparing for the future Small Business Explosion

Global corporations are laying off American workers in an effort to increase profit. $30/hr jobs are going to places like Mexico, Asia, and India. They are being replaced at poverty level $10/hr jobs. Faced with this type of crisis, we must ask ourselves, what are we to do? It seems that this problem has been posed to us by design – America is the biggest pool of brainpower on Earth. Microsoft had a slogan back in the 90’s that I really like, “Its not what you know, its when you know it.” I would propose amending that motto for use in these troubling times to, “Its not what you know, its what you do with it.” We need to find something to do with what we know so that we can get in on more than a $10/hr cut of the American economy. The Internet affords us the opportunity to communicate in ways that previous generations could never have dreamed possible. Now that we have been kicked out of the corporate nest, its time to find ways to band together and create wealth from what we know. The Internet will be an integral part of that. This BLOG is dedicated to keeping the American Dream alive and well. We all have a fundamental right to pursue happiness. As an entrepreneur I am able to purse my own happiness and my own dreams and keep a portion of the wealth that I create. If you are reading this and you are in a similar situation, please feel free to leave a posting.

 RSS Technology

RSS is a new format for Internet based applications. Based on the XML file format, RSS make full use of the database like extensibility of XML to deliver links to news, information, music, and video. This is a technology that I’m really just starting to explore and I love it because I’m a database programmer and have done so much low-level stuff that I feel right at home. If you are no as much of a geek as I am, you might want to hire someone like me to full leverage this technology. RSS feeds can be used to deliver Internet content to places besides web browsers. RSS can deliver content to a users iPod, mp3 player, handheld device, or cell phone. Subscribing to an RSS feed is the most efficient way to use the Internet yet.
